Washington offices of Senator Lloyd Bentsen and Congressman W R Poage announced that the Farmers Home Administration has approved a 198 000 loan to build 14 three bedroom rental houses in Clifton by Clifton Individuals Inc The project targets moderate income families and is separate from a second HUD project planned by the Clifton Housing Authority for 67 units with bids received from Natonial Building Centers and Benna Inc Construction pending loan funds and site plans indicate the 14 unit project will occupy west of Stevens implement and is near downtown Clifton while the elderly and family units for the larger plan will be spread across multiple blocks near Pecan Avenue and North signway 6.

Rites Held for Pastor Walter T Gigstad in Luton Cemetery
Funeral services for Pastor Walter T Gigstad were held Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton. Rev. Albert Pelrich spoke for the Waco Conference of Texas Luther League, with pallbearers named from the community. Gigstad, born October 24 1889 in Valders Wisconsin, graduated Luther College in 1914 and served as student leader and basketball captain.
