Clifton to open public kindergarten classes Monday
Clifton independent school trustees approved plans for a new kindergarten program to start Monday August 2. Superintendent Kent Appleby projected enrollment of 42 or more children after reviewing pre registration figures. Mrs Catherine Howard will lead the program after performing departmental work in the fifth grade.

Pre-School For First Graders Here Next Week
Girls enrolled in summer home making plan a pre school for first graders at Clifton Elementary. The program runs 9 to 11 30 a m Monday through Friday July 23 27 for all 1973 74 first graders. No pre registration is required. Bring crayons and 10 cents for milk. A pool party at Mermaid Swimming Pool Clifton follows on July 24 with FHA officers meeting early.

Mrs. Charles Eissler of Samuel C. Red Elementary in Houston and former Clifton High School graduate Irene Alland was selected for a 1973 Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America award.
