Clifton Council Delays Phone Rate Increases
The Clifton City Council voted to withhold automatic telephone rate increases set for August 1 until the Clifton Telephone Co can show improved service at its next meeting. The two part schedule had raised basic charges for business and residential lines in 1963 and 1972, with further changes due in 1973.

Bosque County Sees No Petroleum Bids Amid Shortage
Bosque County Commissioners received no bids for petroleum supplies despite seeking a 32 month contract for gasoline diesel and oils. Current supplier Continental Oil Co indicated the county could be served at current tank wagon prices with a 4 percent quota. other firms Phillips Gulf Exxon declined bids due to no new customers.

WPCA Loan Volume Up To 26.8 Million
The Waco Production Credit Association ended its fiscal year June 30 with a 26.8 million loan volume for more than 800 members, a 32.7 percent rise from the previous year. Frank Q. Anderson notes new members contributed over 5 million of the increase amid continued high production costs for crops dairy cattle stocker calves and machinery. The association, member owned with offices in Temple Clifton Gatesville Marlin and Waco, has grown from 1 million in 1943 to over 26 million in 1973 and now holds investment exceeding 2 million financed by short term debentures.

Classes Planned For Handicapped Children Of County This Autumn
Bosque County will start fall classes for severely handicap ped children at Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton under a state funded program. A separate program for children with minor abilities will also operate five days a week with physical therapy for the severe group.
