Rogstad-Bronstad Reunion Draws Large Norse Church Crowd
Descendants and friends of the late Berger Rogstad and Anna Rogstad gathered at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Norse on Sunday July 3 for morning services to begin the Rogstad-Bronstad Reunion. A noon dinner and a program followed with speeches, hymns, and recognitions. attendees traveled from many states including Texas California Oklahoma and Virginia.

The July 21 referendum on marketing quotas for the 1961 wheat crop will be held from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the County ASC Office in Meridian. Clif-Tex Manufacturing Expands with New 175 by 78 Foot Building
Steel girders were installed last week to support the roof of the new Clif-Tex Manufacturing addition adjoining the existing plant. Concrete floor pouring began Thursday, with roof work to follow. Victor Conrad says move‑in is targeted for August 1 and the expansion will provide needed storage and a relocated cutting department. George Walls serves as president of the Clifton company. the project measures 175 by 78 feet.

Clifton Man Wins Award At Camp Hood Summer Ceremony
PFC Richard D. Freedman of Company C 2D Battle Group 143D Infantry 36th Division received a transistor radio from Lt Col Wiley W. Stem for being the outstanding private at summer camp. The Bosque County unit completed two weeks of training at North Fort Hood with field bivouacs and an endurance division review.

Mrs Byrum Breaks Arm at Gate Incident
Mrs Ed Byrum of the Coon Creek community fell Sunday morning at the rear gate of the Byrum home and broke her right arm just below the shoulder. She was taken to Clifton hospital for treatment and remained until Tuesday afternoon before returning home. Friends hope the fracture will heal without further trouble.

Rancher traps rattlesnake with steel trap in chicken house
Adolph Kunkel captured a large rattlesnake Wednesday in his chicken house steel trap. The snake had nine rattlers and hissed as he freed it, prompting him to call J B Darden Jr to shoot it. Record renewal date not provided.
