Bosque County 4 H members excel at the Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show in Fort Worth. Derril Wenzel of Clifton placed fourth in Hereford on hoof, Glenn Hanson of Crawfordsville Gap won first in his Shorthorn class and later the Champion Shorthorn Steer. Carcass judging begins Monday with results next week. juniors show five Shorthorn heifers January 29 and results will follow.

Mrs Dillard Dies Here On January 23
Mrs Dillard of Lueders died in Clifton hospital on January 23 after a heart attack. Born August 16 1876 in Kimball County she lived many years in Lueders where her husband died in 1935. Surviving are five sons, one daughter, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral was January 26 at First Baptist Church Leuders with Reverend Lewis Markwood. interment Funston Cemetery.

Clifton High School squads posted mixed results as the Cubs split two district games losing to Alvarado 51 to 49 in double overtime and dropping to Glen Rose 41 to 21. Pete Fredenburg led Clifton with 15 points against Alvarado and JL Fredenburg added 19 versus Glen Rose. The girls' team beat Alvarado 35 to 28 and Glen Rose 44 to 34 with Christie Jenson scoring 19 against Alvarado and Randy Outlaw 18 against Glen Rose.

Bobby Joe Conrad of Clifton, the NFL's leading pass receiver in 1963, will be honored at a testimonial dinner February 5 at Ridgewood Country Club, Waco. Central Texas Aggies will attend, with tickets priced at $5 each, obtainable from Sam Dehm. Miss Olive Hogenson of Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home has been receiving hospital care since January 25.

Norman Sinderud Dies Here After Ill Health
Norman C. Sinderud, 58, of Clifton died January 24 from a heart attack. Born September 12, 1895, he lived on a Mustang farm before moving to Clifton in 1963. He married Clara Knudson in 1929 and had two children Clinton and Yvonne. He worked in farming, with REA, and at a turkey plant in Meridian, and was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Cranfills Gap.

Clifton residents donated 268.93 to the 1964 March of Dimes in Bosque County as the National Guard canvassed the town Monday night. Last year Clifton gave 524.00 to the drive including schools and organizations. Community chairmen named across Bosque County aim to boost funds as Meridian firemen and schoolchildren participate.

Poll Tax Payments Speed Across Bosque County
By January 29 Bosque County saw 2245 poll tax payments or exemptions issued for 21 year olds. Payments were expected to rush through January 31 the final filing day. Eggs range from 34 cents per dozen for loafers to 15 cents for chick eggs with other sizes at 30 cents and 12 cents for cracks. Grain lists oats at 80 cents per bushel, milling wheat 1.85, spring 1.60, barley 90 cents, millet 2.12 per cwt, yellow corn 1.25. Cattle auction saw about 600 head with prices: steers and yearlings 20 to 22.50, butcher calves 19 to 21.75, stocker steers 23 to 25.50, steer calves 25 to 27.50, butcher cows 13 to 14.50, cows and calves 120 to 175. hogs at 15.40.
