Bloodmobile to Visit Clifton City Hall February 2
The American National Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Clifton City Hall from noon to 7 p.m. Monday February 2. Rev Frank Horak pastor of the First Presbyterian and Zion United Church of Christ Parish is the local blood drive chairman. Adults 18 to 65 are urged to donate with parental consent for 17 year olds. Historic outreach notes extend to Bosque County residents through the Central Texas Red Cross Blood Program, with coverage for blood usage across family relations. Arbor Day Planting At Clifton Elementary School
Third grade students at Clifton Elementary planted a sycamore on campus to observe Arbor Day and presented it to the school. Principal James Warlick accepted the gift at a ceremony on January 16. Rev. Cleon Flanagan led the invocation and gave benediction. Mrs. M. K. Bradstreet spoke on Arbor Day in Texas. Students sang America the Beautiful and Texas Our Texas, recited Trees by Joyce Kilmer, and read What Do We Plant by Henry Abbey. Conservation badges were issued to pupils.

Urns stolen from Clifton Cemetery grave
Three urns valued at 25 to 30 dollars were taken from a grave at Clifton Cemetery. Police Chief Alvin James said the theft was reported by a woman who said the urns were on her son's grave. Two urns were large concrete, the third smaller.

Voting certificates mailed to Bosque County voters
The tax assessor Earl Behringer announced that voting registration certificates valid through February 28, 1978 are being mailed to qualified voters who have not visited the tax office. A form accompanies the certificate to update files. new residents must register to vote. If a certificate is not received, contact the tax office.

Clifton High Hosts Invitational UIL Meet
Clifton High School hosted the Invitational UIL Meet on Saturday January 17 with CHS faculty women Mrs Frank Hurak and Mrs Q R Jenson directing. Student helpers from Honor Society Future Teachers of America and Girl Golf assisted as hosts record keepers and timekeepers. Meridian High School won the Sweep Stakes Trophy for the meet, with 58 students and 12 sponsors participating from area schools.
