The Clifton Independent School District plans legal notices and demand letters to collect more than 24000 in overdue real and personal property taxes dating back to 1949. Trustees hired an attorney, approved CD investments, and set election dates for April 3.

The 7th grade Cubettes clinched the district title with a 32 to 21 win over Robinson. Guards Hyde Bartles Langston Horak Tyssen led the effort while forwards Rowe Langston Ludwig and Horak scored, finishing 11-1 this season. They proceed to the Gap tournament facing Meridian Junior High.

Local thefts and minor liquor arrests reported by police
Police Chief Alvin James reports thefts including a black and white TV, pecans, and four books of green stamps from North Ave F and South Ave F areas. Juveniles released to parents awaiting juvenile authorities. Three men arrested for liquor offenses with fines ranging from 27.50 to 155 each. One vehicle collision caused minor damage at Calvert's Prescription Pharmacy lot with no injuries.

The Bosque County Clifton Rotary Club sponsors a county talent show to raise scholarships for local high school graduates. The first annual event is 7:30 p.m. Friday April 2 at Bettis Auditorium Clifton Elementary School with divisions for elementary junior high high school and open. Auditions will be announced. Joe Bryan Clifton High principal is show chairman and Calvin Rueter is master of ceremonies.

Clifton man to lead 1976 Easter Seal appeal in Bosque
Hulen C Aars of Clifton will head the 1976 Easter Seal Appeal in Bosque County announced by Irving A Baker of Dallas president of the Texas Easter Seal Society. Residents will get Easter Seal letters from March 1 through Easter Sunday April 18. The program assists disabled persons and families with treatment and services. In 1975 the statewide Easter Seal program aided 10 768 Texans with a total fund expenditure of 1 820 547. Over 90 percent of funds stay in Texas.

Satellite clinic opens at Valley Mills Clifton Medical
Clifton Medical and Surgical Clinic began operating a satellite clinic at Valley Mills on Monday with a physician on duty Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. The office is open all day on weekdays for appointments. Dr Edwin Tolon has transferred his practice to Meridian. Valley Mills officials sought a local doctor from Clifton to staff the clinic. At a recent council meeting officials outlined how the satellite program would operate.
