The Commissioners Court of Bosque County approves the regular January salary schedule for elective county officers and assistants. Salaries include County Judge 4682 total with travel, County Clerk 4492 plus fees, Treasurer up to 3912, Attorney up to 4092, District Clerk 3602, Commissioners 660 yearly with 800 car allowance, Justice of the Peace up to 4692 under fee system, Constables 40 monthly plus 0.10 mile, Tax Assessor Collector 4992, chief deputies and office deputies salaries, Courthouse Custodian 2316, County Agent and Home Demonstration Agent 137196 each plus 500 travel, Sheriff 4692 with 75 monthly car, Health Officer 360, Secretary to District Attorney 25 percent monthly, with state pro rata adjustments.

Burglars Break Into Stevens' on January 17
Sometime Thursday night burglars broke into Stevens Motor and Implement Co and stole about 200 dollars in tools belonging to Pernie Surley, a mechanic, and 150 dollars in tires. Entry was gained by a broken glass pane, no fingerprints found, and no leads. The same night the Mosheim post office and a Belton garage were also entered with tools taken in Clifton.

Jeff M. Hanna aged 68 of Meridian died at Clifton Hospital around midnight Tuesday January 22 after a long illness. Born July 20 1894 in Bosque County he was a retired farmer and longtime First Baptist Church member.
