County Tax Collector Earl R Behringer reports 1959 tax receipts totaling 417 765 84 across auto registrations title fees transfers ad valorem taxes road and school taxes. Principal allocations show state and county treasurers receiving 58 056 14 and 205 060 44 respectively plus allocations to the State Highway Department schools and fee account. Excess fees returned to the General County fund totaled 6 298 35.

Mrs. Conrad Dies in Hamilton After Illness
Funeral for 67 year old Clifton resident Mrs. Mattie Conrad was held at Jimmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev W F Rolf officiating. She died of a heart attack January 18 in Hamilton hospital after two months of ill health. Interment in Clifton Cemetery. She was born January 6 1893 in Berlin and came to the United States in 1896. She leaves a daughter Gracie and a son Homer (died in infancy).

Prices from Clifton buyers show poultry eggs and grain rates along with cattle and hogs. Cattle offerings exceeded 375 head with strong, steady demand led by good to choice slaughter steers and yearlings at 22 to 25 dollars, cows 16 to 18.50, bulls 20 to 22.75, stocker calves 23.50 to 28, and cows with calves 150 to 250. Hog top 12.75 and lamb top 18.50.
