Miss Erickson and Mr DeSoto of Bay City were married January 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton in a double ring ceremony. Reverend Knudsen officiated with music by Harlan Hoel and organist Mrs Jenson. Attendants wore red velveteen gowns and bouquets of red carnations. Reception followed in the church hall and the couple planned a Texas wedding trip before settling in Bay City.

Members of the Clifton Volunteer Fire Department elected officers for 1960 at a January 4 meeting. T. F. Crawford was re elected as Fire Chief. The roster includes Harris Seljos Bernhardt Amundson Watson Reesing Enochs Carr Olson Landuud. The department has 25 active members with no new applicants. They handled many calls mainly grass and trash fires with minor property losses.
