Drug burglary at Colvert’s Prescription Pharmacy reported
Police said drugs were stolen in a weekend burglary at Colvert's Prescription Pharmacy 506 West 5th Street with entry through a back door. No money or other items were taken. Separate burglaries included a toolbox taken from a residence on South Avenue and a purse stolen from a parked automobile downtown. A vehicle collision caused damage but no injuries.

Clifton Junior High Tournament Ends With Close Games
The Clifton annual Junior High Basketball Tournament drew over 200 participants, with strong crowds and tight contests. In the girls division Hamilton took first, China Spring won the title in the boys division, while Crawfills Gap and St. Mary's earned runner up positions.

Clifton Wins $1615 Sales Tax Rebate Check
Clifton received a sales tax rebate check for 1615.89 dollars. Meridian was the only other Bosque County community to get a January check for 507.81. Comptroller Bob Bullock reported 23.2 million in January rebates mailed to 206 Texas cities and towns, lifting the current fiscal year's total to 152.8 million, a 32.5 percent rise from last year. The fiscal year runs Sept 1 to Aug 31.

Crawfills Gap Approves One-Cent City Sales Tax
Crawfills Gap voters approved a one-cent city sales tax by 62 to 3 in a Saturday special election. Election official Ben Rhodes said the newly incorporated city will begin collecting the tax July 1, with judge Mrs. E D Johnson and clerks Mrs. Ben Rhodes and Grady Pendleton volunteering their services.

Housing board director resigns from Clifton Authority
Mrs. Pauline Bekken resigns as executive director of the Clifton Housing Authority effective March 1. CHA commissioners accepted the resignation with regret and voted to advertise for a replacement in the part time post. She served nearly two years. The board will seek interest from local CPAs to conduct the annual audit with books audited June 30.

Dolls from Norway exhibit comes to Clifton museum
The Norwegian Information Service sponsored touring exhibit titled Dolls from Norway will be shown for four weeks at Bosque Memorial Museum Clifton with 26 dolls in folk costumes from Setesdal to Sor Varanger created by Ronnaug Pettersen. The show travels from Chicago and will later visit Phoenix Arizona with student guides and a Sunday tea event.
