Olin Johnson and wife visit Clifton from Highlands after Denver City trip. they came from Denver City where they visited daughter Mrs. John Brown and family. Thomas S Donoghue, Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home resident, underwent January 12 leg removal surgery in local hospital and remains a patient. Mrs Ole T Jorgenson of Crawfils Gap fell near Charlie's Cafe and likely suffered a broken hip and knee injury. she is in Clifton hospital.

Pay Boosts Approved For County Employees in Bosque County
The January 13 1961 meeting of the Bosque County Commissioners Court approved about a 10 percent pay raise for all employees including elected officials. Judge J P Ward said the increases align with cost of living and would not raise county taxes this year. Salaries for officials and staff were set with precise monthly, annual, and fee-based scales, including county judge 4400 plus fees, sheriff 4692 plus car and prisoner costs, and numerous deputy and staff pay structures.

Thompsons Host Supper and Sock Hop for CHS Band
Mr and Mrs William T Thompson entertained Clifton High School marching band members and guests with a Saturday night supper in the CHS cafeteria on January 14. Former Clifton Resident's Son Joins California Firm
R. Dale Olson of Galveston has been named director of instrument research and product development and testing for F. E. Olds & Son Inc of Fullerton California. He will also serve as brass instrument consultant and clinician for colleges universities and studios west of the Rockies. Olson, son of Mr and Mrs Al Olson of Galveston and nephew of Mrs Hugo Schulze of Clifton, studied trumpet at North Texas State College earning a BM in 1956 and an early MS in Trumpet Theory and Performance. He previously worked with Galveston ISD and the Ronald M Schilke Co before joining Olds & Son. He is married to Diane Dolfi with two children.

Pat Sherwood, after more than a week in Clifton hospital, moved to the home of his son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Kirby Humphries in Brownwood to recuperate. Ida Greer and daughters Ruth and Velma Brandenburg of Richardson visited, joined by Mrs. Greer’s brother in law and sister Mr and Mrs John W Blewett. Guests Tuesday included Mr. and Mrs R L Johnson of Richardson. Mr Blewett returned to work briefly Thursday morning.
