Skeleton Found Identified as Elbert Ballew of Olney
Remains found near Smith Bend in Bosque County identified as Elbert Steven son Ballew born 1905 from Olney after ties to a 1963 missing person case. Sheriff A O Tiny Carr said a long investigation traced a four year abandoned pickup linked to the man and his family helped confirm the identity.

Thompson couple return from national turkey convention
Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Thompson came home Tuesday after a week at the National Turkey Federation convention in Omaha Nebraska. They visited with Mrs. Thompson's brother Jerry Fardal and his family then traveled to Webster City Iowa due to the critical illness of Mrs. Harold Thompson who had a heart attack.
