Shriners Wild Game Dinner at Karem Temple in Waco
The annual Wild Game Dinner of Karem Shrine Temple set for 6 30 p m Thursday January 18 in the cafeteria with about 500 Shriners to attend. Venison donated by central Texas deer hunters and prepared over hickory coals. The dinner precedes the annual stated session at 8 p m in the lodge room with election and installation of officers. Winthrop Seley to preside.

Stacha Receives Army Commission At Texas A&M University
Stacha of Clifton will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Saturday at Texas A&M University. Gen James K Woolnough will award the commissions at a ceremony following commencement. Maj George E Strebeck and Col Jim H McCoy will oversee the oath for 86 cadets. Stacha, an agronomy major and son of Mrs Anton Stacha, is a former cadet second lieutenant of Company H-2.

A two man debate team from Texas Lutheran College will compete in the Tulane Mardi Gras Debate Tourney January 26 through 28 in New Orleans. Marvin Sam Fischer of Seguin and Stephen Zimmerman of Clifton form the TLC unit led by Forensics Coach Robert Lehmann. The pair previously performed well at the Southwest Texas State meet.
