The Clifton Industrial Foundation held its first general meeting on January 9 and elected a 7 member board: Jess G Hammock Cecil F P Coston J L Standefer Jr Robert L Lane Leslie B Vance Mrs John D Fenn and C H Rose. The foundation has 112 members and 6300 dollars in cash with a 300 member and 50000 dollar three year goals. A special meeting was set for 10 am today to elect officers and plan future work.

Mian Jailed After Scaring People by Waving Pistol
Maurice Vereen of Cleburne was jailed in Bosque County on multiple charges including DWI carrying a pistol and assault with a prohibited weapon after allegedly chasing and waving a pistol at motorists on January 8. Bonds set at 5 000 for the pistol charge and 10 000 each for assault and DWI, he remained jailed Wednesday morning.

Clifton City Council approves new planning commission and disposal hours
In its first 1969 meeting the Clifton City Council created a New City Hall Planning Commission and set public disposal hours open 1 to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and 4 to 6 pm Sundays. They accepted an Evans Implement bid of 5500 for a Massey Ferguson backhoe over a lower bid, reappointed two housing authority members, and renewed the golf course lease with the Clifton Golf Club for 10 more years.

Clifton Cub Varsity and B-Squad basketball teams have posted several district games. Hoff led scoring with 23 in a 64-43 win over Valley Mills, Fossett 14, Hanson 10. Earlier wins included Grandview 46-42 and a Meridian tournament title with Hoff 31 in the final. The squad also beat Meridian and Valley Mills in tourney play.

Clifton residents with school children must fill and return the census blank distributed by students. Enroll all children currently in school and add any child who will be six by September 1, 1969.
