Ken Neystel resigns as Clifton city manager effective February 20 1976 after 21 months in office. Mayor Jim B Smith praises his leadership and notes he will become city manager in Palestine late next month. Neystel came from Fort Worth where he was assistant city manager since 1971.

Appleby Honored by TASA for Lifelong Education Service
Kent Appleby former Clifton ISD superintendent received an honorary life membership in the Texas Association of School Administrators. He retired June 30, 1975 after 45 years in education. Twenty nine other Texas educators also gained honorary life status at the TASA opening session in Austin on January 7.

Walnut Springs man charged with burglary in Me
A Walnut Springs man identified as Charles Lee Redden, 20, awaits grand jury action on a burglary charge. He was held on a $2000 bond after arrest by the county sheriff's department in Meridian. Two juveniles were questioned. The burglary occurred at Greg Wenzel’s Walnut Springs Route 1 home on November 26 with about $2000 worth of guns and tools taken. all items have been recovered.
