Texas Forestry Service expert Renee Burke spoke to the Bosque County Clifton Rotary about tree pruning. She outlined safe cutting practices, timing for oaks, tool hygiene, and cautions near power lines, emphasizing be safe and bonded for hires and using sealants after cuts.
A child died after an accidental discharge during a family outing and target practice. The victim was taken by ambulance to Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton and pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Jamie Zander. Sheriff detectives found the incident occurred when her father Dean Wayne Coble of Nacogdoches was handling a firearm. The District Attorney has been notified and the Bosque County Sheriff's Office will continue the investigation in consultation with the DA's office.
