Bosque County Officials Sworn In For New Term
Elected Bosque County officials and judges were sworn in Monday January 3 at the county courthouse. Bosque County Judge Cole Ward introduced 220th District Judge James E. Morgan who swore in incoming 220th District Judge Phil Robertson. Robertson thanked attendees and praised Morgan for 28 years of service as judge, calling him a hard act to follow.

Clifton Athletic Booster Pancake Supper Friday
The Clifton Athletic Booster Club invites attendees to a pancake supper on Friday in the high school cafeteria aligning with Cubs and Lady Cubs basketball games. Menu includes pancakes bacon sausage and drinks with advance tickets at 6 dollars and 3 dollars for children 6 and under. A silent auction of baked goods will be held during the games with donations sought from the community.

Chili Supper Planned at Womack Lodge
The Curzon Record reports Womack Lodge 135 hosts a winter chili supper with optional stew on Saturday January 8 starting 5 PM at Womack Hall. Calvin Rueter says the menu includes beans crackers condiments and homemade desserts. Tickets are $7 at the door. children under six eat free with an adult.

Grass fire on FM 219 near Clifton spreads 30 to 40 acres
High winds fanned a grass fire about four miles east of Clifton on Friday morning December 31. The pastureland fire, origin undetermined, burned 30 to 40 acres near the old turkey barns. Clifton Volunteer Fire Department and West Shore Volunteer Fire Department fought hot spots for hours before extinguishment.

The 2011 Bosque County Photography Show opens March 26 at the Arts Center and is open to Bosque County residents and Arts Center members. Entries are free, with a $2 acceptance fee. up to five prints per entrant in five categories.
