Clifford Jenson, assistant postmaster at Clifton, is named carrier for Rural Route 1 effective January 19 1963. The vacancy followed Joseph O Nelsons 40 years of service and interim service by Paul M Nelson. Jenson joined the postal service after WWII in 1946, became regular clerk in 1954, and assistant postmaster in 1960. He and his wife Margaret Land live on a Clifton area farm with two children Clifford Jr and Christie. The move follows a Poage recommendation.

Thursday morning prices list EGGS with sizes up to 33 cents a dozen and grain items including oats at 80 cents per bushel and milling wheat at 2.06. Cattle at Clifton Wednesday sale offered about 800 head with a steady market and ranges for steers, calves, bulls, stockers, cows, and cows with calves. hog tops reached 15.75 to 16 dollars.
