G A Phillips laid to rest in Clifton grave
Committal services for Gustav Adolph Phillips of Waco were held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Clifton, on February 9. The Rev. Theo Griesse officiated. Phillips died February 6 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Waco, after a long illness. He was born June 28, 1895, in Clifton, served in World War I, and retired from the VA Hospital in 1961. He is survived by his wife Hazel, daughter Jo Ann, two grandchildren, a brother Kurt Phillips, and many nieces and nephews.

McLennan Community College and Clifton ISD offer a nurse aide course for adults. Registration starts March 9 at 7 p.m. in Clifton High School. The program covers blood pressure, patient care, and prepares learners for work in nursing homes and hospitals. Enrollment is limited to 15 adults. CPS urges metal-free kite flying for safety

Rites Held for Mrs. Adolphe Behnke in Clifton
Funeral services for 89 year old Mrs. Adolphe Behnke were held Sunday in Clifton Funeral Home chapel conducted by Rev. Frank Horak with psalms and hymns sung by the Womack choir. Burial followed in Clifton Cemetery. She moved to Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home in 1975 and died February 6. Survived by seven children, a sister and two brothers.

Inez McCoy Thornton, born April 5, 1892 in Thorndale, died February 14 at Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. She lived in Arlington most of her life and is survived by her daughter Mrs. Thomas Moseley of Clifton, son J Jerome Thornton of Dallas, nine grandchildren, and three sisters. A longtime Dallas ISD teacher, she retired in 1963 and was active in multiple civic groups. Funeral services set for February 17 at Moore Funeral Chapel Arlington. interment at Parkdale Cemetery.

Mrs Ellingson Dies In Austin Funeral Held
Thelma Catherine Homerstad Ellingson died February 11 and was buried in Austin. Born June 28, 1912 in Norse she was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and later joined Gethsemane Lutheran in Austin. She married Lee Ellingson on July 15, 1934 and had three daughters.

Funeral services for Eddie Mickelson held in Shreveport
Funeral services for Eddie Mickelson of Shreveport Louisiana formerly of Cranfills Gap were conducted at Rose Neath Funeral Home Shreveport by Pastor Dick Martin on February 19. Serial services were held at St Olaf Lutheran Cemetery Cranfills Gap at 12 noon February 20 by Pastor Marvin O Ottmers. Pallbearers included Elden Corley Marion Sorenson Milton Pederson Arthur Pederson marshal Knudson and Albert Amundson. He was born April 28 1902 in Waco and later lived in Cranfills Gap Dallas and Shreveport. He married Gladys Schihir March 19 1921 and was preceded in death by two brothers six sisters and two children. He worked for iron companies and died February 17 after four years in Shreveport Manor Nursing Home at age 73. Surviving include his wife and one son Jerrydale Mickelson plus two grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

Ed Hopkins Jr. named manager pro of the Lake Whitney Country Club after years as a top amateur and local resident. Easter Seal Campaign Supports Texas Disabled
Easter Seal letters go out in Bosque County led by Helen C Aars of Clifton. The Easter Seal Society funds rehab services, therapy and equipment to help disabled Texans, financed by the annual appeal and fall drive. In 1975 the society served 10 768 people. Self-mailing aid requests are available through the local representative as the campaign runs through April 18. A new foam bonded fabric process is also noted by Beverly Rhoades of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service.
