Bank joins Texas Rangers 150th anniversary commemorations
Farmers State Bank of Clifton partners with the Texas Ranger Commem orative Commission to distribute official medals in oxidized bronze or 999 fine silver. Medals feature Ranger Captain Leander H. McNelly on the obverse and the Texas Lone Star on the reverse. Proceeds fund the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, to be dedicated in Waco next autumn with notable attendees and displays of weapons and artworks by Clifton artists.

Texas THD closes Clifton office after 1946 operations
The Texas Highway Department will shut its Clifton office on March 31. Senior resident engineer T. H. Ralph says duties will be handled by THD offices in Hamilton Hillsboro and the Waco district. Clifton’s office has operated downtown about 10 years, with Ralph retiring April 1.
