Mayor Isenhower Announces Re-Election Bid in April race
Mayor Charles Isenhower plans a sixth two year term in the April 7 city election. He announced his intent after the Tuesday city council meeting and will make a formal statement later. Petitions for candidate listing are available until March 7 from City Secretary M R White. Clifton residents not registered must join by 30 days before April 7. Meridian Bank Bid Sparks City Banking Business Move
Meridian Bank submitted a sealed bid to take over the city's banking business from Farmers State Bank of Clifton. Riverside Park Receives Half-Funded Start From Washington
The federal government approved 50 percent matching funds for Phase One of Riverside Park. Mayor Charles Isenhower said a written confirmation will specify the exact amount. Phase One includes a group shelter 20 picnic sites an all purpose court croquet area and a children's playground. The total estimated cost for the three phase project is 250000. Phases Two and Three require reapplication for federal funds and were not approved under current economy measures.

High Water Bill Complaint Tabled by City Council
City Council members tabled for one month a complaint about a one month water bill of 41 dollars. Mrs Nell Darsey of 5th Street was told she would not pay the disputed bill until the council reviews it and two other cases at the next meeting.
