Farmers State Bank Plans Addition in Clifton Facility
Local contractor L Forsen has begun work on a major addition to Farmers State Bank in Clifton. The project expands the north wall and directors’ room, adds a 22 by 16 foot directors’ area, a workshop for most bank machines, new rest rooms, and coffee rooms. A new outside entrance will allow after hours meetings without entering the main bank while the facility joins the adjacent Community Public Service Company building and prepares for possible year round air conditioning. The bank plans an auto teller window in a future expansion, not expected until next year.

Clifton Banquet Set With Duke Carlisle Speaker
About 300 tickets sold for the Clifton High School Cubs Jinx Tucker Trophy Award Banquet at the National Guard Armory Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Emmett Augustus Duke Carlisle of Texas will be guest speaker. Jackets and blankets will be awarded, and the event replaces the father son banquet. Carlisle, a UT quarterback and Packers hopeful, has led Texas teams to three Southwest titles and three Cotton Bowls.

Nutt Named Acting Bosque County School Superintendent
Andrew T. Nutt appointed to fill unexpired term of the late Joe White, who led Bosque County schools for 21 years. Nutt, 30, a Panola County native and Iredell Public Schools teacher, begins March 1 and holds a BBA in accounting from Stephen F. Austin and 24 education hours toward an MEd. He has two years in accounting, five years teaching, plus naval service.
