Mother’s instinct proves right in Vietnam photo
Mrs. A G Sander of Cisco identified Richard Sander in an Abilene Reporter News AP photo of a Viet Cong lieutenant capture near Da Nang. Richard a Navy hospital corpsman left handed and wearing a helmet was pictured. he had recently learned to shoot right handed for shell ejection. He left Brownwood in 1967 and is based near Da Nang with reserve duty after returning from Vietnam in August. Mrs. Sander follows war news to know where sailors are.

Easter Seal Appeal Opens in Bosque County March 1
The 1968 Easter Seal Appeal will begin in Bosque County on March 1 led by Helen C. Aars Easter Seal Representative. Aars says letters will reach homes around February 28 and invites inquiries for rehabilitation services for crippled children and adults through the Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Texas. Lt Gov Ben Barnes is State Chairman for the Appeal.

Women Complete Assignments For Needed Cancer Dressings
Coyote Home Demonstration Club and Coyote Methodist Church women turned in 26 dozen dressings to the Bosque County Unit of the American Cancer Society. In two sewing days they made six dozen of four sizes with named volunteers contributing. Dressings have been wrapped and stored in the Loan Closet at Clifton City Hall for future cancer patient needs.

Clifton Girl Scout Troop 218 held a Valentine event starting with skating at Boyd's Skating Rink Lake Whitney on February 15 for fourteen girls and two leaders. After lunch they hiked Whitney Dam and returned to Clifton.
