Meteor sighting prompts reader inquiries across region
A Clifton area meteor was reported Tuesday night with sightings from Chico Iredell to Fort Worth. Grover C. Ramsey of the Institute of Texas Cultures seeks Norwegain artifacts and asks residents to loan a cradle scythe, hay rake, hay saw, two wooden buckets, and a 1936 Clifton centennial issue. Clifton Group Wins First in Stage Band Festival
Clifton's Stage Band placed first in Class A at the two day Stage Band Festival held February 14 and 15 at Brownwood High School Auditorium. Judges included John LaPorta and Leon Breeden. Sponsors were Mel Cowan and Paul Barnett. Forty bands entered the contest with about 1200 students attending.
