Clifton's 1985 Heart Fund Drive shifts from February 2 to the week of February 21. The Clifton Business and Professional Women’s Club will conduct house-to-house canvassing on Coffee Pen week to solicit funds and distribute information on heart disease prevention.

CHS Band Parents Sponsor Pancake Supper and Concert

CHS Band Parents sponsor a pancake supper Friday night March 26 at 7 30 in the school cafeteria to benefit the Clifton High Band. A ticket to the supper buys admission to the band concert in Bettis Auditorium with an additional charge for the concert. Morris Wallace offered to build a large pancake griddle for the event, replacing past rental needs from the Richardson Kiwanis Club.

Clifton businessmen set holidays and committees

About 25 Clifton business and professional men met at City Hall to decide 1966 holiday dates and organize Christmas decorations and a visit from Santa Claus. They kept six holidays identical to 1964 and formed committees to coordinate with the city and promote Clifton advertising.

Mr and Mrs Odier Pederson were honored at a 2:30 p m Thursday going away party hosted by Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home residents. Pederson, longtime superintendent since 1954, resigns to become Director of Public Relations and Development at Texas Lutheran College in Seguin. They plan to move March 2 with services including a devotional and community farewell emphasizing lasting appreciation.

Clifton cattle auction steady with steady prices to week

Approximately 325 cattle were offered at the Wednesday Clifton auction. Prices ranged from 9 to 22.50 for various cattle types with good to choice steers and yearlings at 19 to 22.50 and hogs topping 16.50 to 17.

Mrs. Ernest Giese and Mrs. Alex Anderson of Clifton attended the Mid Winter Conference of the American Legion Auxiliary in Austin on February 13 and 14. Giese belongs to Cunningham Unit 322 in Hamilton and is president of the 17th District. Anderson is a member of Selmer Erickson Post No. 322 Auxiliary in Clifton.

Clifton High Band to Compete in Brownwood Festival

Clifton High School Stage Band of 17 students, led by Glen Judah, will travel to Brownwood on February 25 for the Annual Brownwood Stage Band Festival. The group will be judged at 5:30 PM Thursday and return to Clifton that evening. Accompanying judges include Don Jacoby serving as a trumpet judge.
