Fort Worth Man First 1968 Traffic Fatality in Bosque County

Horace Busby Turner 36 of 4600 McCart Street Fort Worth was Bosque County s first traffic fatality of 1968. His 1959 two door auto ran off FM 219 between Clifton and Crawfills Gap hit the Turkey Creek bridge and toppled into the creek bed. He was alone and believed killed instantly. the crash occurred about 2 15 a.m. Sunday and was not discovered promptly.

CHS Band Concert To Provide Good Show

Clifton High School hosts a fund raising band concert at Bettis Auditorium with music by the full and stage bands. Tickets include a concert and film of the marching band, plus pie and coffee, priced 1 for adults and 50 cents for students, on Thursday at 7 30 pm. Proceeds fund letter sweaters and band awards.

Cotton Grain Advance Payment Continued in 1968

Advance payments to farmers in the feed grain and cotton program will continue in 1968. Henry T. Bass, Bosque County ASCS office manager, said signup runs from February 5 to March 15, 1968 and requires applying when signing up for the program.

February Rain Continues Clifton 1968 Wet Start

February 1968 shows a wet start in Clifton with two rains totaling .70 inches by Thursday morning. A U S Weather Bureau gauge at Clifton Funeral Home recorded .40 inches Monday and .30 inches Thursday, bringing Clifton area rainfall to 8.30 inches for 1968.
