Local Schools Plan Early Start After Holidays
Clifton High School and Elementary principals announced classes resume Wednesday January 3 after break, with teachers back January 2 for in service. The early start to recover one of two days lost in a recent ice storm, the second to be made up during Easter holidays, was confirmed along with a note that the high school building move is contingent on paved access streets. Clifton Firemen reported all 400 tickets sold for the Second Annual New Year’s Eve Dance at the Armory, benefitting protective equipment for the department. The event runs 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday December 30 with live band, free soda and snacks, and seating limited to 400. The club praised the community’s safety record and offered New Year wishes. The obituary section noted Winchester Mass. banking and civic affiliations among notable locals.
