Connally Tech grows with three campuses and 54 programs
Texas State Technical Institute expands from Connally Tech under a 61st Legislature act. The Waco Amarillo and Harlingen campuses enroll about two thousand students for the fall trimester. Notable locals include Jeanie Fowler and Carolyn Watley of Clifton, both freshmen in commercial art advertising and dental assisting. James Conrad of Clifton earns a 1969 ILF scholarship while at UT Austin. Baylor students Maudie Ragsdale and Linda Waggoner from Clifton participate in Beethoven Ninth with Baylor groups.
