Carol led beef cattle showing and 4-H leadership while Darrell excelled in livestock projects and club leadership earning top showmanship and honorees in 4-H activities.

Arnell Larson of Lormrude's Food Mart received a scalp cut needing seven stitches and a bruised knee after his car struck a culvert south of Clifton. He said the incident occurred Sunday near noon as the vehicle veered from gravel and damaged the car badly.

Fire Causes Little Damage at Clifton Home
Clifton volunteers rushed to Mrs. C. E. Wiederaenders home around 1 30 AM Thursday extinguishing a fire in the living room. Miss Erna Wiederaenders had been trying to raise raisin bread dough when a covering caught fire and flames rose about two feet. Little damage occurred beyond scorched floor spots and a smoked wall.

Burglars entered and opened safes at E. E. Stewart Motors and A H Oil Co in Clifton. Stewart Motors lost 333 dollars and 40 cents cash four tires a pistol and lighter. A H Oil Co took 89 dollars. County officers and Rangers investigate with no arrest yet.

Pecans 25¢ per lb, cream 40¢, oats 60¢ a bushel, wheat 1.80, spring wheat 1.40, mile 1.35, barley 78¢, corn 1.10. About 425 cattle offered. prices range from 14 to 25 dollars for cows, calves, and stockers. Hog top 17.50, lamc top 14.50.
