Jo Richards a popular auto mechanic at Gilliam's Carnes was accidentally shot with a 22 rifle at the home of his brother in law Otho Jemma between Cittee and Meridian. Olaf Westgaard dies at his Clifton home on December 8 1909 after a life as a sailor and merchant. Born July 28 1861 in Otter talen Norway he served in the Norwegian army and later settled in South America before moving to Texas. He married Beatrice and had four children Odin Olaf Mery and Antoinette all surviving. A Lutheran by birth he joined the Presbyterian Church in Clifton and was a longtime active church member. Funeral at First Presbyterian Clifton on December 9 led by Rev A E Reeder with interment at Clifton Cemetery.
Judge Earl Lovelady reports Bosque County will receive 8948.24 from state road funds via House Bill 500 to restore deficits in Road Districts 1A Meridian area 2499.09, 3 Walnut Springs 4320.00, 7 Series1 Valley Mills 273.33, 7 Series2 Valley Mills 1100.42, 8A Clifton 2216.40. September 1940 will add further allocations to the Road and Bridge Fund.
