Thousands of hunters and outdoor enthusiasts embrace the new Sportsmen's Coverall made at Clifton. The Blizzard-Prof Coverall or Fieldmaster In has increased comfort this fall and boosted local production and employment.
The Clifton area business Clif-Tex Manufacturing with Wallis Master-Made roots unveiled a lightweight sportsman coverall using Scott Foam bonded to fabric. The garment, offered in hunter red green and antelope brown, features knit cuffs and bi swing back, suits extreme cold, and supports year round production at about 30 dozen daily.
Santa will arrive Friday after noon December 9 at 5:00 in Clifton, greeted by a Clifton Fire truck. He will shake hands with children and hand out candy and bubble gum, then visit stores for more handshakes. Joe Knochs to open the Cliftex Theatre at 4:00 for a free cartoons and comedies show for youngsters before Santa’s arrival. Stores will stay open late for shoppers.
Brigadier General Thomas S. Bishop and eight Texas Adjutant General staff members will visit Clifton Friday afternoon to discuss the Texas National Guard. The piece highlights the guard’s federal and state roles, its size, units, and historical service in World War I II and Korea, with Clifton as part of the 36th Infantry Division.

A store loss of 100 dollars last Friday was recovered as 90 dollars were found by officers after the suspect confessed. The man indicated the cash was thrown from a car along a highway, and Clyde Barton helped locate the money.
Clifton High School honors include five Cubs on the 1960 All-District 22-A football team with four on the offensive eleven and two on the defensive eleven. Jim Willenborg named Best Back and Coach Aubrey Roberts Coach of the Year. Willenborg also selected to the Super Center squad.

Clifton merchants join the city in buying 27 strings of new Christmas lights for West 5th and West 3rd streets and Avenues D and G. Firms donated strings and funds for installation while Jaycees and volunteers spent a full day wiring and lighting the decorations.
Eddie E. Harrison a 33 year old Fort Worth man is in fair condition at Harris Memorial Hospital Fort Worth with a gunshot wound to the right shoulder from a hunting accident on the Searcy Place near Meridian. Harrison was in a three man party when Thomas J. Johnson reportedly fired at a fox and the bullet struck Harrison as he sat under a tree. Earlier in the deer season Bob McBee of Fort Worth was killed in a hunting accident near Iredell.
Clifton High School's choir directed by Mrs. O. R. Jenson will appear on the Better Living program over KWTX TV in Waco at 11 30 Friday morning December 16. They will sing a three voice medley of traditional carols and I Wish You A Merry Christmas, with Zeda Anne Jameson soloist and accompanists Miriam Thompson Carol Ann Dennis Maurine Alland. The group also plans to sing for local groups and attend Handel's The Messiah at Baylor University December 20.
J W Hardie aged 81 years 2 months 13 days of 516 North Avenue I Clifton died Monday afternoon December 5 in the local hospital after ill health. Funeral services were held December 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev M D Woodruff. Interment in Turnersville Cemetery. A full obituary will appear next week in the Record.
