Clifton High School band director Glen Judah reports 65 to 69 students at preschool practice sessions this week, with 74 expected after vacations. The 55 member group will perform at the Clifton Cub Hillsboro game Friday night. The band added new tympani and bassoon, and overhauled two baritones and two bass clarinets. Clifton’s Band has won the Region III Sweepstakes Trophy for the past two years with first division ratings in marching, concert, and sightreading contests.

Mr and Mrs E E Schow of this city were hospitalized after a collision on Highway 2 near the Lake Whitney bridge. Leon Sonnenberg 19 of Bynum faced charges for stop sign violation and license suspension. Sunnenberg’s car and the Schow vehicle collided at a 45 degree angle. both Hillsboro youths in Sonnenberg car were uninjured. Mrs Schow suffered chin and neck cuts a broken right arm and other injuries. Mr Schow sustained a bruised chest and hand injuries. Glasses fell but were recovered undamaged.
