A M White Dies Services Aug 17
Funeral services for J M White were held at the First Baptist Church in Meridian at 4 00 PM Thursday August 17 with burial in Meridian Cemetery. He died in Clifton hospital after a long illness at age 80. Born in Bosque County he was a prominent Midland oil man before retiring to a ranch home between Clifton and Meridian. He and his wife had celebrated their 50th anniversary two years prior. Surviving are his wife three sons James G White of Albuquerque NM Robert White and J M White Jr of Midland one brother Sid J White of Kopperstown and seven grandchildren.

Friday of last week Seth Witcher and Kenneth Leck joined the Big State Baseball Caravan bound for Monterrey Mexico to play a three day series with the champions of Monterrey August 13 14 and 15. The party traveled in air conditioned buses and stayed at the Grand Ancia Hotel enjoying sight seeing. This marks the fifth border trip for Big State teams noted for strong baseball.
