Sunset Home in Clifton reports the death of Mrs. George Harvie 88 a longtime resident since 1955 She suffered a heart attack earlier this year and died at Sunset Home Clifton Hall Memorial services were held at 10 30 A M Reverend Joel Nelson officiating interment in Clifton Lutheran Cemetery She is survived by son Frank Harvie Magnolia Arkansas daughters Mrs J W Butler Jr Magnolia Arkansas and Mrs R C Carroll Norfolk Virginia six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren

Meridian infant James Calvin Holt born August 8 weighing 8 pounds 12 ounces to Reverend and Mrs Vernon N Holt. Clifton couple Raymond Rosentreter announcing Nancy born July 20 weighing 7 pounds 4 ounces. Fort Worth area Stephen William Ashcraft born August 5 to Don and Mrs Ashcraft with grandparents P L Ashcraft and Alton Heier. Meridian daughter Catherine Elaine Sellers born August 7 weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces to Raymond EF Sellers and wife.
Miss Fannie Nichol aged 86 of Blytheville Arkansas dies Friday night August 5 and is buried Sunday in Osceola Arkansas. She had visited Clifton several times and lived with Dr. C R Nichol and his wife for a period.
Mrs. Ole M. Aanenson of Dallas visited her mother Mrs. Ernest Landgraf and joined Mr. and Mrs. Ben T. Jacobs for their 25th wedding anniversary celebration in Andice. Mrs. Jacobs is Landgraf’s daughter.
Bosque County Farm Bureau prepares a queen pageant with Monday TV appearance by Clark Bolt of Channel 6 Temple and a 7:15 PM sandwich and cake supper at City Hall before the 8:00 PM contest. Contestants include Elaine Bakke Mary Nell Hoel and Zeda Ann Jameson Clifton plus Mary Carol Nelson Cranfills Gap Sue Pennington and Mary Sue Reichert Valley Mills.
Ora Mae Brenholtz 72 died at home August 6 after a brief illness. Funeral at Walnut Springs Baptist Church on Monday with Rev. Doyle Edson and Rev. Harold Walker officiating. She is survived by her husband H. K Brenholtz, two brothers Bob and Lee Britton, a sister Mrs. Ed Jones, a step son Edwin Brenholtz and step daughter Mrs. R. E. Hilliard. Burial in Walnut Springs Cemetery.
Work began last week on a new 15 by 30 foot office area for the Clifton Telephone Company to relieve crowding. The expansion will include storage and billing equipment as growth continues. REA plans approval is awaited for Norse area lines and construction. Mrs. Jack Raver of New York visits her mother Mrs. Millie Price. her schoolmates know her as Mildred Solberg.
A young alligator about a foot long wandered from Jerry Ludtke’s Ludtke residence to Emmett H. Schow’s yard where Mrs. Schow noticed it under a sprinkler. The reptile, linked to a missing pet, was captured and later donated to a zoo in Waco with difficulty keeping it penned.
Mrs E C Johle of the Womack community departs Sunday August 14 by plane for Antwerp Belgium. She will travel with her husband to Dallas then continue alone to visit her cousin John Knust and family in Germany and tour other European nations during a six week trip.
Almer Anton Jenson age 75 died of a heart attack Saturday afternoon at his home in Bosque County He was born near Clifton and lived most of his life on farms He is survived by his wife daughter and sister with two grandsons noted in Meridian First Baptist Church funeral held August 8.

Clifton High School prepares for a 1960 season with 30 to 40 players reporting for pre season drills. Returning lettermen supply experience in both backfield and line as two new coaches join Coach Aubrey Roberts for two daily practice periods before a once daily schedule begins August 29. The Cubs open September 2 at home against Hillsboro.
The Clifton Record prints a Weather Bureau summary on a June 14 15 1960 heat event near Kopperl and Lake Whitney. The official notes a likely 100 degree midnight reading with no support for 145 degrees, cites adiabatic heating and a dissipating squall line, and suggests sand scouring caused crop damage.
County 4-H Club members and leaders outline a detailed program by Extension staff Waymon Davis and Lucy May Burrus. Clifton Lions heard Miss Valerie Goodall perform with Miss Martha Colwick during the noon meeting. Guests included Judge J. P. Ward and M. L. Crimmins, with Colwick set to wed Vernon Erickson later this month. Membership stands at 76 with a goal of 100 next year.
Mr and Mrs Oliver Bronstad and their son John Michael of Fresno California left Tuesday after visiting his mother Mrs O M Bronstad and other relatives in the community.
Mr and Mrs Will Forson left Clifton for Denver Colorado upon learning of their son Brown Lee s death They were joined by their son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs C D Price of Dallas who were in Clifton when the news reached here No funeral time or details were available at press time
Prices reported Thursday morning from Clifton buyers show eggs at 32c a dozen for No 1s, cream at 40c a pound, oats 69c a bushel, wheat 1.80 a bushel, barley 80c, corn 1.23, and cattle at steady but lower for butcher calves and yearlings. Hog tops at 17 to 17.50, lambs 9 to 16. Cattle sales featured 499 head with range across steers, cows, bulls, and calves.
