J B Darden Sr aged 76 years 1 month 24 days of Route 1 Clifton died at 2 00 am Monday April 25 in Goodall and Witcher Clinic Hospital after a stroke of paralysis He was born March 1 1884 on the Clifton farm and spent most of his life farming He married Bessie Bowlin in 1922 and is survived by his wife son J B Jr stepdaughter Mrs Herbert Schramm two step granddaughters a brother and a sister Funeral services were held April 26 at the Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Clifton Cemetery.

Clifton Garden Club Flower Show Shines At Bosque Museum
Out of town guests from Meridian Hamilton Dallas Waco Valley Mills and local callers attended Clifton Garden Club's sixth annual show "Treasures With Flowers" at Bosque Memorial Museum from 3 to 7 pm on April 21. Mrs P L Ashcraft won the tri color award in Artistic Division while Mrs L H Boleman earned the award of distinction in Dried Arrangement. Mrs George M Harris won the award of merit for a voodoo plant and swept blue ribbons in the show. The theme received a blue ribbon. conservation and education on wildlife and flowers earned an award of merit. Judges were Mrs Earl T Fairman Mrs A E Neumann and Mrs Leslie Garrison of Waco.

Thursday morning quotations list poultry eggs by grade with prices from 15 to 28 cents per dozen and hens at 6 cents over 4 percent weight. Grain prices show milling wheat 1.90 a bushel and oats 60 cents. Cattle sale notes 475 head offered with varied price ranges from good to choice slaughter steers 24 to 27.50 dollars and cows 12 to 18, calves 25 to 27.50, bulls 17 to 20.50, stocker yearlings 24 to 27. Lambs listed 16 to 21, hogs 16 to 17.
