New Officers Installed For Hospital Auxiliary

The Goodall-Witcher Hospital Auxiliary held an April 1 awards banquet and installation with 19 members and three guests. New officers led by Rev. Curtis Holland include Mrs. Don Giotl as President and Mrs. Robert Rachuiz as First Vice President, with several committee chairs named and plans for a Bird Cage Gift Shop in the new hospital. Volunteers are urged to call Mrs. Jim Smith to join. open house in July and LVN Graduation Reception in August are planned.

Clifton Mail Separation Drive Urges Full Address Use

Clifton citizens and men are asked by the Clif ton Post Office to separate local Clifton mail from other first class mail. Local and other mail drops exist inside the post office with an outside box to aid separation. Mail from Clifton and nearby Texas towns will be sent to Waco for processing to cut costs. Use full address Clifton Texas 76634 on all mail and include Laguna Park in addresses to avoid delays.

Bosque Museum Quilt Show Promises Vintage Craft Display

Bosque Memorial Museum Cufton hosts a two Sunday Quilt Show May 7 and 14 from 2 to 5 PM with at least 25 quilts on display. Mrs Milton C Brown coordinates, will lecture at 3 30 PM on quilt history, and hostesses in period costumes usher guests through a tea. Admission is 25 cents.

The 20th annual Lake Whitney Beauty Pageant on June 9 and 10 at Lake Whitney Country Club adds twelve entrants this week pushing total past fifty. Bosque County Primaries See Long Ballots and Write In Rulings

Bosque County voters faced a crowded ballot for the May 6 Democratic primary with as many as 69 names in Clifton and longer lists in other precincts. Incumbent Fletcher Cooper faces Fred Wright. six candidates once sought the Precinct 3 seat but one dropped out. Write ins are limited by law in the primaries and only permitted in the general election. A school busing referendum is on the ballot.

Civic Society Tasting Bee Opens To Public May 3

Clifton Civic Improvement Society invites all to a Tasting Bee in City Hall dining room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday May 3. Lake Whitney to be Nearly Double In Size at 533 Feet

The Fort Worth district of the Army Corps of Engineers will raise Whitney Lake conservation pool to 533 feet when hydrologic conditions permit. Flooding, land occupancy, and livestock removal advised as water volume increases from 15,760 to 23,560 surface acres and shore line grows to 225 miles.
