The Clifton Rodeo will run August 31 and September 1 and 2 with Loyd Woodley of Lampasas supplying stock. Denise Brown and Clint Cox won land surfing at the China Spring FHA Rodeo on April 15.
Clifton Garden Club presents Flowers on Parade at Mrs Currie Duncan 211 North Ave. R. today from 2 30 to 6 p m. The public is invited and admission is free.

The Civic Improvement Society announces a public tasting bee on Wednesday May 3 with Clifton cooks offering new recipes for sale individually or as a recipe book. Dishes including meats vegetables salads breads and desserts will be samples from 11 am to 1 pm in Clifton City Hall dining room. Tickets cost 1.00.
The district one act play contest at Connally High School Auditorium awarded Mike Reeder Clifton Best Actor for Day of Atonement with Judy Barton West named Best Actress. Clifton won first place and Connally Robinson second. eight students earned all star cast honors among thirty participants.
Clifton High School students earned two first places and three second places plus 12 other awards at the District 10- AA UIL Literary Contests held at Baylor University on April 6. Winners Mike Reeder and Suzane Smith advance to regional competition at North Texas State on April 22, with Suzane Gray entering regional journalism.
Clifton Lions Club elected new officers at April 11 meeting for 1972 73. Officers include Jim B Smith president Jim Jones first vice president William Butch Kettler second vice president Joe White third vice president Fred Jensen Lion Tamer James Fuller Tail Twister A R Fricke secretary treasurer E B Harris assistant secretary and Rev Frank Horak chaplain. Outgoing president Wayne Gloff moves to board. David Conrad named new director.
The American Cancer Society provides sickroom supplies and equipment for home use, with written physician requests. In Texas volunteers dress 1,335,768 dressings annually, aiding families and patient comfort. Large cities offer limited volunteer transport to treatment centers. rehabilitation includes speech therapy for laryngectomy patients and Reach-for-Recovery programs. One Texas dollar funds patient services. five dollars buys a wheelchair for a month.
Clyde Holt Jr wildlife biologist from Decatur will discuss the Possum Kingdom survey with current data on white tail deer population dynamics and harvest in North Central Texas at the Bosque County Sportsmen's Club meeting on Thursday April 20 at 7 30 p m. Landowners and sportsmen are urged to attend and an oyster supper will be served.

Absentee voting has begun in the County Clerk's Office at the Courthouse in Meridian for the May 6 Democratic Primary. The final day to vote absentee is Tuesday, May 2. Voters should contact the Clerk's Office for information.
Webelo Scouts will meet in Clifton on Thursday April 20 at 6 30 p m at the Scout building on the fair grounds. All ten year old boys interested in scouting are invited to attend or contact Pat Patterson or Tommy Wilcox.
All girls ages 15 to 18 or high school sophomores through seniors in 1972 are invited to an organizational meeting Thursday April 20 at 7 pm in the Clifton Medical Clinic waiting room. Groundwork for a Witcher Hospital sponsored Candy Stripers unit will be laid.
