Bluebonnet Drive Draws Hundreds On Olsen Ranch Visit

Nearly 200 vehicles carried about 600 persons through the C. & Olsen ranch Sunday afternoon for the Spring Bluebonnet Drive. Mr. Olsen reported 132 cars in the first group and about 60 more in a later run, with autos averaging three or more occupants.

Jaycees Challenge CHS Teachers for Donkey Ball Game

Clifton Jaycees vote to face Clifton High School teachers in a donkey basketball game set for Saturday night in the Clifton gym. Jaycees cite teachers’ basketball skill, while one spokesman doubts the teachers will accept. An editorial note promises a teachers' response next week. Civic Society Plans May 1 Meeting and Sunset Home Gift

Clifton Youth Baseball signs up 97 players for summer leagues

A record 97 boys ages 7 to 14 signed up for Pee Wee, Freshman, and Sophomore baseball in Clifton. Doug Railsback, president, notes this marks the largest pre-season sign-up. A special meeting Friday at Clifton City Hall organized by M Finstad will plan league play and attendance from Meridian Valley Mills and Crawfils Gap.

Lake Whitney Pageant crowds view 16th annual event

Thanks America production highlights Clifton Elementary Spring Festival

Six classes from Clifton Elementary perform Thanks America in the annual Clifton PTA Spring Festival tonight April 25. The event funds local school projects with a 6:30 p.m. sandwich and drink sale and an 8:00 p.m. performance featuring fourth to sixth graders, with high school students aiding as choir members, stagehands, and ushers. Tickets are 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for students. Refreshments will follow in the cafeteria.

Clifton High School Cubs Varsity baseball defeated Valley Mills 8 to 4 on Tuesday. Pitcher Gary Anz credited with the win. Coach Buddy Ables’s team will play two home games next, hosting Glen Rose and Itasca’s nine on consecutive dates.
