Clifton Businessman B W Whitney Dies After Church Conference
Clifton businessman and jeweler B W Whitney died Monday night from an apparent heart attack while attending the First Methodist church quarterly conference in Clifton. He was 40 years 8 months old, a longtime resident, and left behind wife Gladys and five children. Whitney had taught woodwork at Clifton High School and operated a watch repair shop near The Clifton Record, becoming a respected member of the local community.

A fire Friday night destroyed Jesse Ray’s rent house on North Avenue H Clifton just west of North Highway 6. Fire Chief George M. Harris said the blaze spread quickly before detection and the adjacent home narrowly avoided major damage due to lack of wind.

Grandchildren Of Elmer Reveile Die In Michigan Collision
Frankie Slater age 13 and Susie Slater age 12, grandchildren of Elmer Reveile, were killed in a train car collision in Jackson Michigan Sunday night April 18. Their sister Dern was injured and the parents Cecil Reveile were not mentioned as present. Mr and Mrs Bowers were driving them to church when the accident occurred at a crossing. Downe and Mrs Bowers survived. Dern is in critical condition in a Jackson hospital. Services for Frankie and Susie were planned at Albin Michigan with interment there.
