Mississippi visitors tour Bosque County and Six Flags trip
Visiting here last Friday and Saturday with Mr and Mrs Emmette E Raley were Mr and Mrs Bryce Blanton and children Tim and Tonis of Biloxi Mississippi. The Blantons were impressed by the hills and bluebonnets in Bosque County. The group fished and dined at Meridian Lake Friday and were met Saturday by Mr and Mrs John Hurst of Abilene. They left Saturday afternoon for Six Flags over Texas in Arlington and a brief stop in Abilene before returning home.

Mrs W N Grant 69 of Clifton Route 2 died Saturday night at Scott and White Hospital Temple after six weeks as a patient with five operations. Alvin Spitzer Jr underwent shin grafting Monday at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston for burns from an explosion at Hillsboro Junior College. Doctors expect recovery in about three weeks if condition improves. His wife Mira Lane of Valley Mills and sister Bert Cook of this city stayed in Galveston during treatment.

Forty nine members of the Clifton High School Band led by Glen Judah will compete in the UIL Regionals at Connally Junior High School in Waco Thursday. They performed last year in first division and will play Castle Gap Fantasy for Band and Prelude in Fuge with judges Maurice McAdow and others.

Clifton High School Band Banquet Held April 20 at Lavender's Cafeteria
Sixty seven attendees including Clifton High School and Junior High School band students gathered at Lavender's Cafeteria in Waco at 8:00 PM on Tuesday night April 20 for the annual Clifton High School Band Awards Banquet. Band director Mr. Glen Judah and Clifton Band Parents Association members organized the event with Master of Ceremonies Mr. Pierson. Baylor University musicians provided entertainment after a supper, as awards were presented.

Samuel B Reid Dies in Clifton Clifton Lathe Home
Samuel B Reid 79 of near Cranfills Gap died April 23 at Clifton hospital after long Bosque County ties. Born December 9 1885 in Johnson County he was one of ten children. He married Jennie Olson and lived in Fort Worth Amarillo before moving to Bosque County in 1945 near Cranfills Gap. Mrs Reid died August 2 1959.

PTA Votes Four Business Meetings and Donations
Clifton PTA approved four business meetings for the 1965 66 year on the second Monday of September November February and April. They sanctioned a 750 donation to the school board for paving between the auditorium and Junior High and a 100 annual gift to support Clifton High School Interscholastic League contestants. They planned a May 6 Spring Festival and announced cafeteria food committees. A style show by Clifton High School Homemaking students capped the meeting.

Death of Tilden R. Skramstad near Cranfills Gap
Tilden R. Skramstad 7 died April 26 near Cranfills Gap of a sudden heart attack at his home on the family farm off Highway 22 between Meridian and Cranfills Gap. He was born March 25, 1888, son of the late Ed Skramstad and Mrs. Johanna Erickson Skramstad, survived by a sister two nephews and four nieces. Funeral services were held April 3 at St Olaf Lutheran Church.
