Death of Edgar Simpson News in Turnersville

Edgar Simpson elder son of Dr. R H Simpson of Turnersville died at home Wednesday night after a lingering typhoid fever. He graduated from Lutheran College Clifton and studied at Baylor University Medical College in Dallas before he was stricken. Friends from Clifton mourn his untimely loss. He was a bright young man with a promising future.

Anti Hog Ordinance Faction Wins City Alderman Seats

In the city election last Tuesday three aldermen were chosen from six candidates on the printed ticket. Total votes were 123 with majorities for J. G Anderson 40, John K. Cowen 44, and Dr G W Collins 80, while supporters of the hog ordinance faced a strong showing from the anti ordinance ticket. The election split into two factions over support for the hog measure passed about a month ago, and the anti hog ticket won by a large margin.

Presbytery of Central Texas to Meet in McGregor

The Presbytery of Central Texas will meet at 6 o clock pm on April 13 at the First Presbyterian Church in McGregor. It covers fifteen counties in Central Texas with each church represented by the pastor in charge and one ruling elder. Clifton church is represented by its pastor and J. W Butler with O. J. Rea as alternate.

Coll C C Hemming president of the El Paso National Bank in Colorado Springs spent Wednesday in Clifton as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Butler. He was returning from a trip to New York and enjoyed Clifton and its scenery. He knew Henry Lockett Lon Cooper and A K Bass thirty years ago and has known the Butler family since childhood.
