Belgrade Falls as Austria Captures City After Heavy Bombardment

Vienna reports Belgrade has fallen after a fierce defense and bombardment. Serbs blew bridges, many civilians wounded, fortress ruined, and Austrians advanced to Vidhnutza while both sides suffer casualties.

Camp Opens as Clearfield Group Delights at YMCA Gathering

The YMCA camp along the Sasquel McGees, open from July 21, drew many attendees from Clearfield, DuBois, Tawney and Indiana. Fathers and mothers from nearby areas praised arrangements, while campers enjoyed campfires, songs, stories, and a circus night. A Mahaffey baseball win of 9 to 8 capped a week of activities and visits from local families.

Christy Mathewson, one of the Big Six, anchors the Giants with his pitching as the club holds first place. Credit for victories and current standing goes largely to St Christopher.

Married at the Parsonage Knox Township Couple Wed

Richard Williams and Maud Wise of Knox township traveled to Clearfield for a Wednesday ceremony at 2 pm at the Presbyterian House conducted by Rev. Dr. E. C. Reeve. They dined with Mrs. H. D. Smith at 32 River Street, and were joined by Lemain Wise and Miss Gessie Williams.

Trial Divorce Proves a Dismal Failure in Carlisle

Reuben O Hara and his wife, after living apart for about a year, revived their marriage plans following a trial divorce. Friends urged reconciliation, and yesterday he obtained a license to remarry his former wife, signaling a renewed attempt at matrimony.

Playtime for Children in Witmer Park This August

The Woman's Club invites children under 12 to Witmer Park each afternoon in August from 2 30 to 5 for free storytelling and games led by Miss Boyce and Miss Dietzel. Contributions toward park play facilities are welcomed to Mrs Harry F. Wallace, treasurer. The effort aims to establish central playgrounds across wards for child development and relief for working mothers.

Dublin Honors Men Killed in Implied Arm Seizure

Dublin witnessed a massive funeral procession with over 200000 people bearing silent and bareheaded in tribute to three men killed last Sunday when police and soldiers fired on a mob trying to seize arms for the Irish nationalist volunteers. Shops closed as the march wound from the cathedral for about a mile and a half. The mayor and city council led public bodies in the solemn event.

Minister on a Vacation Visiting Easton Relatives

Rev. C. R. Allenbach and Mrs Allenbach left this morning to spend a month with relatives in Easton. No church services will be held during the vaca tion though Sunday school continues. Address available at the post office. On return, the church will be dedicated followed by a conference. Civilian volunteers accompanied the hearses and the band played dirges as the cortege passed the shooting site. Burial was in Glasneveen cemetery with volunteers firing a valley over the graves.

Marriage Licenses Issued to Four Couples in County
