Miss Lillian M Jackson of Pope Joy Iowa accepts a contract as librarian at Clarinda High School. She succeeds Don Johanns who resigned to join the University of Omaha as assistant librarian. Johanns served a year in Clarinda and Jackson has two years as Wellston Missouri librarian and WW II Navy Hydrographic Office service. She holds BS from the University of South Dakota and MA from the University of Illinois. Three faculty posts remain open: high school principal, vocal music, and college English.

Funeral for Joe Loghry 80 in Lewis and Hepburn area
Burial service for Joe Loghry 80 of Lewis was held at Rose Hill Evangelical United Brethren church after a funeral at Atlantic. The Hepburn native died last week and is buried in Rose Hill cemetery. He lived near Hepburn for five years and previously farmed north of Villisca before moving to a farm east of Hepburn. Survivors include his wife May a daughter Mrs Ray Mathews of Ft Collins Cole and two sons Leland of Ft Collins and Leroy on the Hepburn home farm.
