Registers from Clarinda and out of county totaled 74 and 115 respectively. Notables include Annie Mecintos h 91, longest living member, and long time rolls for Joe and Grace McCullough. A large out of county guest list features names from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, and beyond, with 354 current members on the roll.
Jim Miller returned home Thursday after hospitalization in Corning when a rifle discharged while he dug ground squirrels. Foster Park Playground will open at the Foster Park Recreation Center on Monday under Director Agnes Irwin. Supervised play will run daily from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Lula Heller will assist Miss Irwin in supervising summer recreation for both boys and girls.

Otto Hartstack farm suffered hail damage to all crops. wind and rain affected nearby homes and poultry. Local families and 4-H groups attended gatherings and visits across Red Oak Essex Tekamah and Bellevue with community arrivals for summer plans.
DVBS ends at Shambaugh with program this Sunday June 16 at 8 pm at United Missionary Church. Youths convention held over the weekend at the same church, guest speaker Dr Couchenhour. Local visits include Mrs Jack Wareham and Shelbyville kin, and several trips between Cedar Rapids Atlantic and Clarinda.

Des Moines center at $2.6 million connects to Iowa towns. calls to Des Moines Ames and neighboring cities speed through automatic circuits. Donald H Fisher and family host Orsvis Wagarman home as Davis Wagarman from Denver visits. Brownlees host entire family midweek.
