About fifty parents and teachers attended the opening PTA meeting at Clare School on Monday night. President Raymond Ruby led as Supt. Austin Bates announced 740 enrollment, discussed a future building program, Open House set for October 18, and the milk program sponsorship.

The Vernon Center Mothers Club met with teacher Mrs Ruth Hachmuth for its first meeting on September 16. Eight members attended, two new members joined. Officers chosen: Mrs Robert Milcholin president, Mrs Lionel Fetters vice president, and Mrs William Chapple secretary treasurer. A mothers attendance contest was organized with captains Mrs Chas Haring and Mrs William Strouse. The club will meet the first Thursday of each month.
