New hospital kitchen opens at Clare Osteopathic Hospital
The Clare Osteopathic Hospital drives forward its year long campaign to fund improvements with the opening of a new dietary department. The kitchen features state of the art equipment improving efficiency and sanitation. Clare City considers keeping garbage service with two bids
At a Monday night meeting two businessmen offered bids to run municipal trash pickup and landfill options. Roger Bielfuss proposed 29 500 yearly for residential and business service with a separate landfill contract. William Bauer bid 40 000 annually for similar service plus landfill, with a second option at 10 000 yearly for landfill access only. City manager Glen Cain had estimated 29 000 annually including landfill if the city runs its own truck fleet.

Clare County to receive federal funds for public works

Evelyn Rachel Loan Fund created by a $5,000 bequest from Hazel Rackel of Beaverton supports loans for students pursuing college education. Loans repayable within five years after graduation with preference to non smokers and teetotalers. Procedures for 1972 enrollment details are being prepared.
