Rain Delays I 75 Freeway Completion in Saginaw Area
Heavy rains in the Saginaw area delay final paving of 15 miles of Interstate 75 between Saginaw and Birch Run. District Engineer Edward Upson says about 90 percent of paving is done and the freeway should open to traffic in early November before deer hunting season.

Fishing Regulations Unchanged On Flies Only Waters
Michigan Conservation Commission keeps flies only waters unchanged for another year after a review by Dr. Gerald P. Cooper. Research so far does not justify expanding flies only rules to more waters. The panel approved a fishing for fun area where anglers release all catches. The commission extended brook trout season in Swanzy and Airport lakes and designated 127 waters as trout lakes with limited seasons.

Isabella County 4-H Club Paints Fair Buildings at Island Park
The Isabella County 4-H Service Club hosts two community projects this fall. Volunteers paint roofs of Island Park fair buildings with a session planned for Saturday September 23 in Mt. Pleasant to finish the last structure. The group then plans a wheat cakes and sausage breakfast at Coldwater Lake 4-H Camp on Saturday September 30.
