Seventeen Year Old Drowns in Half Moon Lake

Cub Scout Rescues Companion From Drowning at Mill Pond
A Cub Scout named Jay Green Jr. ages 12 saved Chester Richard Jr. 10 from drowning at a mill pond last Saturday. Despite Chester not swimming, he slipped into deep waters below the dam and was carried by a strong current. Green swam to aid him, endured the drowning boy grabbing him, and used a forceful kick to free himself. He then rescued Richard again, bringing him to shore with guidance from Scout training. Both boys returned home and kept silent until an accident revealed the event.
