Sgt Townsend Discharged From Army Air Corps
T Sgt C A Townsend was honorably discharged at Fort Bragg North Carolina on August 31 after three years two days of service. He served as a gunnery instructor at Myrtle Beach for a year with wife Maxine Hawkins and has Air Medal with nine Oak Leaf Clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, and three bronze stars on his ETO ribbon.

Mrs Allie Wilson Dies at Daughter’s Marion Home
Mrs Allie Adele Wilson aged 79 died at her daughter Mrs Frank Murray in Marion Michigan after a three week illness. She was born in Holly Michigan Dec 17 1865 moved to Clare in 1879 and leaves three children twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren along with a sister Celia Johnston. Funeral services were at Clare Methodist Church at 2 30 Sunday with Rev Chas B Hahn officiating and burial at Cherry Grove cemetery.
